The Workforce initiative is the product of a collaboration of two community based non-profit organizations. The BMGS was established in 1991; and The Crew was established in 2008. These are volunteer groups that have long histories of providing resources and support to community youth. And both groups are comprised of citizens from the greater Springfield area. 

 

The purpose of this initiative is to provide awareness and education to individuals about vocational work opportunities that can be obtained with about 1 year of formal training.

 

The end goal being to provide quality training and jobs to people from the greater Springfield area; and to improve the quality of life for them and their families. And to provide area employers with qualified and invested workers from the community. 
 

The stakeholders are area training providers / institutions, potential employers, local elected officals and the community in bringing this effort together successfully.
