The Black Men of Greater Springfield, Inc. is a non-profit, IRS Section 501-c-3 charitable organization. Established in 1991, the organization was formed to bring together men of concern from the greater Springfield area, to provide mentoring and educational and recreational opportunities to the young men from this community. And for over 30 years, the BMGS has been awarding scholarships to area youth.

The Black Men of Greater Springfield’s youth scholarship program began in its’ first year of operations; and it continues today. Over the years, we’ve supported hundreds of young men, and women, with awards to help with the costs of their educations.
The needs of our children are greater today than ever. It is critical that the entire community shares the concern for the needs of our youth. We’re committed to continue providing opportunities for our youth.
